STEP INTO THIS CLASS: A Lunch-Time Discussion Series

Second Wednesdays, 12-1:30 pm

Sponsored by the Center for Design Innovation, “Step Into This Class” features professors and educators from the Winston-Salem area offering a taste of what happens in their classrooms. For 2017-2018, the series will include beloved faculty from UNC School of the Arts, WSSU, Salem College, and Wake Forest.

For the inaugural edition of Step into this Class, inventive physicist Dr. Janna Levin will welcome us to one of her favorite lessons from her UNCSA course the Science of Food and Cooking. In this class, we’ll learn about heat, heat transfer, phases of matter, and then learn to apply the lesson as we make ice cream with liquid nitrogen.

Feel free to bring your lunch, and we’ll have some drinks and snacks on hand as we immerse ourselves in learning. Faculty, Students, and all members of the community welcome.
