Join us for a night of bricks and brains as we kick off this Spring’s MAKEnight program with LEGOnight! A high-energy hands-on evening full of LEGO® entertainment for kids ages 5-100 to learn, build and play with LEGO®s. Each workshop is a fun, enriching experience for all ages.

 

FREEbuild in the Atrium

Collaborate in the FREEbuild workshop with other attendees to create your own models and sculptures. Feel free to bring your own legos. Snap a photo and hashtag it #CDIwsnc to compete for best build. 

STOPmotion with Stephen Baker

 

Bring your bricks to life! Stop in to the STOPmotion workshop with Stephen Baker, Professor of Animation at UNCSA. Baker worked on the Lego CL!CK, a short film that fostered creativity, rebranded Lego as a learning tool, and inspired a TED talk.

LEGOrobotics with Shalisha Morgan 

Experience cutting-edge technology with LEGO® Robotics EV3 and NXT in the LEGOrobotics workshop led by Shalisha Morgan, the Geek in Heels. The Salem Academy Robotics Team will also be participating. This workshop will incorporate thenewest generation of motors, sensors. and software by programming commands into robots. Younger aged children will be able to use the Tynker coding app to create fun and exciting projects to explore the world of programming, engineering, and architecture.
