“A designer is an emerging synthesis of artist, inventor, mechanic, objective economist, and evolutionary strategist.” –Buckminster Fuller
In April, 2017, CDI’s Innovators Mixer resumed at our Innovation Quarter location after taking a few years’ hibernation during the transition from Winston tower! For the first time in our versatile new presentation space, we gathered a series of presenters around projects ranging from a college design student/sneaker-head who transformed shoes into individualized designer gas masks, to an environmental designer gathering and sharing knowledge of waterways in Winston Salem, to a micro-lesson on what foundations of design would look like from a non-western point of view. We’ll feature several of these programs in articles here in the future; for now, a slide show of the exhibitors, and hope you can make the next Mixer November 20, 2017.
