LOCAL MOVIE THEATERS AND COMMUNITY IMPACT

ABSTRACT
An exploratory study examining access to local movie theaters and the impact on the surrounding communities. What is the value of having easy access to movie theaters? What is the impact of no access? How does access benefit the community as a whole and individual residents? The study will analyze the locations of local movie theaters in Winston-Salem, NC. Findings will be based on interviews with film exhibitors, surveys of local movie-goers and residents of areas without access to movie theaters.
